LaJuana of Free Marissa Now Bay Area group showing her support. December 2015.

Vibeka Lyman created these wonderful lyrics to sing in public to create awareness and action around Marissa Alexander. See a couple of the activists from the group Free Marissa Now Bay Area chapter sing in front of a movie theater in Berkeley, CA on Christmas Day. Please take action during this holiday season, and go out and sing these carols while holding signage that that depicts text and/or image of ‘Free Marissa Now’. If you are only finding out about this campaign now, please see my older posts here to get caught up. Like I mentioned before, in previous posts, Free Marissa Now Alexander is my Vegan Praxis of Black Lives Matter. What is yours? . And if you can, please donate to this amazing group to help Marissa get the freedom and justice she should get. Let’s not punish womyn for standing their ground against being beaten by their spouse.

ALSO, TO THOSE OF YOU WHO HAVE POSTED COMMENTS ABOUT MY BLACK LIVES MATTER AND FREE MARISSA POSTS AND DIDN’T SEE IT COME UP. THEY WERE THE ANTI-THESIS OF BLACK LIVES MATTER SO THEY WERE DELETED.  I WILL NOT PROMOTE TROLLING AND BAD ENERGY, SO PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WRITING ME SUCH CRUEL COMMENTS.

O Free Marissa Alexander (sung to the tune of We Wish You a Merry Christmas)
O free Marissa Alexander
O free Marissa Alexander
O free Marissa Alexander
And save Black Lives now!
Imprisoned are those,
the innocent good,
what freedom we’d achieve
if we all knew we could-
O free Marissa Alexander
O free Marissa Alexander
O free Marissa Alexander
And put Black Lives first
How many jailed lives
do we need to see,
Stand up, fight back, listen
and set them free!
O free Marissa Alexander
O free Marissa Alexander
O free Marissa Alexander
And SAVE HER NOW!

Hark the Women Are Arising!  (sung to the tune of Hark the Herald Angels Sing)
Hark the women are arising,
No more jails or stolen lives
People power to the masses
Freedom for the child who cries
Black Lives Matter
Women leading!
Student chanting!
Children singing!
With a social conscious state
New policies are on our plate!
Getting rid of racism
-Breaking down capitalism
Now we move forth finally
Holding close our destiny.
Vibeka Lyman (c) 2014
Freedom for Marissa Alexander (sung to the tune of Angels We Have Heard on High)
Freedom for Marissa now,
Out of jail and going home
People fighting to allow
Women’s safety all around
Freeeeeeeeeeeee
Free Marissa Alexander
Freeeeeeeeeeeee
Free Marissa Alexander now,
No more Black deaths in our world
killed by cops and officers
justice lives and prevails
by the people; voices heard
Freeeeeeeeeeeee
Free Marissa Alexander
Freeeeeeeeeeeee
Free Marissa Alexander NOW!

O Little Town of Jacksonville (sung to the tune of O Little Town of Bethlehem)
O little town of Jacksonville
what power you behold,
from prison depths
to Washington’s steps,
this pattern is too old
the deaths we see have broadened
from woman, to child and man
when Marissa is freed
We’ll have succeed
in doing the BEST we can
And in her darkest hour
injustice seems to rule,
but human heart
will make a start
to change what once was cruel.
